While I got the joke and I'll admit I read pages 1, 2 and then skipped to the last I tend to agree with those who say it was a poorly done joke. (I'm sorry if this has already been said.) Here is why: The leaves and the court aren't the primary focus in this photo. It's a roller thing hanging on a fence, and a fence with green bushes behind it. I would say most people on FM are photographers and appreciate photos. Therefore if you want to do a joke, post a photo with the objects from the joke as the primary focus. With that being said good idea coming up with the joke!
Hi Mark...don't read too much into it. Some "negative nancys" are, that wasn't my intention.
It was simply a play on words referring to one of the more prolific posters on this board whose topic always reads something like, "xxxx, court of leaves".

I think we also learned that if you are negative about people you get lots of views/updates to your post. Hmmmmm.. I wonder if this could help when I post my photos... ;-)

Hmmz. Even references to this thread are not appreciated elsewhere. And only Jordan responded. To me, this sheds new light on the humor of these forums.
Wow, I guess Jordan is showing his true colors now (no pun intended).
It seems that he deleted the "sorcerer" thread because many people were calling him on his "holier than thou" attitude.
I guess he realized that there were more members out there that felt like I do and less that feel like he does.

OTOH, it really is a shame...most of his work is fantastic. It it weren't for the attitude (and the relentless cramming of "the Court" down our proverbial throats) I would have nothing but respect for him.

I know you don't see it and never will, but take it from those of us who aren't lame, your sense of humor is kinda like listening to Bob Saget's jokes from reruns of "Full House". And I have no doubt there's people that enjoy that cheesy sense of humor, but it's not mine and it's definitely not a whoooole lot of other people's. The difference between us is, I don't insist that you guys in the Full House crowd see things my way. If you think a fence is funny, good for you. But don't get your panties all in a bunch when other people don't - especially the guy you're making fun of.
The only work I saw criticized was Gheller's. And the folks defending the COL posts were pretty brutal in their critique of his image and humor and it bled over to personal attacks on him (yet he never whined). Most of the recent posts from the Bob Saget Fan Club have actually complimented the COL images. I think that makes your comments the contrary ones.
And I was wondering if it is true that the recently deleted Court of Leaves/Sorcerer thread was being investigated by the U.S. Mint for possible copyright violations connected to unauthorized use of an image from the penny? Any idea?

Holy crap I can't believe this thread is still going. I've gotten a laugh out of ALL the responses on this one. Jordan could be the biggest ass in the world but he still posts some damn cool images that take talent and a lot of work to accomplish. Of course, I got the OP's joke right after I saw the image and yup I laughed out loud. Still, if you're gonna do something like that you gotta at least acknowledge the artist you're making the joke about. It's just common sense. This whole thing has been blown out of proportion because a couple jack asses let their ego get in the way and of course all the other posters that have been "hurt" in the past? let it go, if I got offended by everyone that didn't like my photos I'd never have gotten better. I have to believe that more pansies reside on this board than the wedding forum!! jeez.

what exactly is a court of leaves anyway? I see the posts all the time but just don't get it...last one i saw was a painting of horses wasn't even any leaves.
