dnadal,

Wow, I really like your picture. So simple yet representative of fall.

Tomas, that shows a real lack of discipline...how to you expect to make it as a photographer? Great series...that river bottom looks like an ankle-breaker.

Nice series everyone. Good idea Dave, and nice shots as well.

And even though you apologized to them, I figured I'd go ahead and prop up the southern hemisphere folks a little!! This was taken in their fall in March, 2006 in southern Argentina. It's Mt. Fitz Roy in Patagonia.

Dang! Forget Sunny: I want some of your travel budget! I just re-viewed the episodes of Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge about Patagonia and Mt. Fitz Roy. That's some serious far-away.

I'd could spend a few days shooting in these locations, especially that last one.

Here is one from September 2003 in the San Jaun Mountains. This is the view I have from my condo deck. Engineer Mountain dominates the view at over 12,000 feet.

OK, so we should all feel a bit sorry for Malcolm with this out his back door.

Here's my entry. Taken last fall. The D50 and 50mm 1.8 is a fantastic combo.

This one is from last year. Taken on the road to Lundy lake in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains. Best, Phil

I took this one this afternoon on my walk. We had a brief thunderstorm as the weather is still unseasonably warm. What struck me is that usually by this time of year, the summer wildflowers have died off and the goldenrod is dying quickly and no longer yellow. This year, the leaves are beginning to turn and the summer growth is still abundant. I like what the rain does to the colors as well:

A tough shot to do well with all that wild detail. Good work.

Things seem to be starting slowly, but turning in earnest in the NW as well...I haven't had a chance to get out into either the Olympics or Cascades, but there are lots of shooting opportunities closer to home.

That really is a fine, fine thing, Jeffrey...so were you patient enough to wait for the cloudbank to align with the top of the trees, or did you compose with your feet? Dave

Dave, I was in a somewhat narrow canyon (Cottonwood basin in the White Mtns of CA) and was watching the cloud movement. I saw this coming, set up and waited. Bingo, and I pressed the shutter.
