First, thank you for feedback on my last post, BUT I cannot leave well enough alone. After cooking breakfast this morning I decided to try this layout.
C&C welcome of course
BTW: I will post a BW version the BW forum shortly.
Well I'm going with this one, adjusted the contrast a little more and it’s one of those decisions of trying to be faithful to assignment.
Thank you for the feedback.

Just looked at the BW post and I've got to say I prefer that, despite the touch of pink and yellow here which breaks up the whiteness and add a touch of colour. They are both good, composition and lighting works with either version but the BW conversion is my preference.
I grew up with BW in the 70's and it's something that I really want to prefect. I just thought it was a cheap shot on the WA theme of white on white. Using color to convey the theme is the challenge for me. I’m not sure if that makes any sense to anyone else but me, but it's my goal for this WA.
Was your original post just of the flower. Although I like this I feel the other was better. it in my mind captured the moment, essence of seeing that flower and the subtle shadows and highlights that can be so hard to capture well.
Thank you and it was a challenging WA for me. I’m not much of a flower person, but it made sense to me to shot the egg and flower together. I was wondering if the Canon 40D with the high light switch would have had more control for this WA? I was shooting lilies in the arboretum this summer and sure could have used it. I had to stop down 2 full stops to keep from losing detail in the white lilies. Has anyone tried this on setting on this week’s WA?
