When paper becomes fragile. Hold your breath when placing the next card.

C & C appreciated.

Good luck to all.

Wow, what a high stack; fantastic shot Karen!
The lighting looks great, it gives it a very interesting three-dimensional effect.
You've created an excellent picture, a perfect way to demonstrate fragility.
This was going to be my next project for the assignment; now I must get back into my “idea search mode”…

This one brings back memories for me too. Many a winter day I'd go through the house collecting the decks my Mom tried to stash away so I wouldn't lose the 6 of clubs. I can't help but think this type of thing would be an excellent candidate for Lord V's cross-eyed stereograms on the Macro board.

Well done!

Yup, Karen, Jane is right - another finalist for sure! My only critique (which may not even be a critique) is that the cards have a decidedly pink cast to them. Perhaps the cards are themselves pink Either way, this is fabulous!!!

All best wishes,

Endre

Nice work (both the pic and the tower of cards). Is it still ok?

Karen, I am very impressed! Obviously, you have a steady hand and lots of patience to go along with your photography skills. I suppose it is safe to say that you have no fans in this room, huh?

Art,

The joker kind of summed up the whole process. I figured I was a fool. It took five times of building this house. Let’s just say I also learned a bit of patience.

Endre,

The pink is from the back of the red cards. I worked with the lighting but did not get what I wanted. It came out harsher than I was looking for. I tried to take the red out in post processing but then it turned a slight green. I have no skills in post processing but am working on that. Thanks for the comments,

Karen

Robert,

You are soooooo right, the fans were OFF. I live in AZ and it was about 116 outside. Even with the air conditioner running we keep the ceiling fans on all of the time. It got very hot in the room which only added to the frustration of falling cards and problem lighting. But if that is what it takes, then that is what it takes. Thank you for the comments.

Karen

Nice take! What could be more fragile than a house of cards!
Your lighting really sells this shot. I am sure it wasn’t easy.
