Wonderful art, Art! The color is just gorgeous. I know you explained it but I didn't understand it. What is this?
It's great having you back among us!
All the best,
Endre
Hi Endre -
I have been specializing in this technique of creating abstracts using motion blur techniques developed over several years. To begin, I used to take up to 4 gigs of images just to get one I was happy with. Now, I try to control the process. I think of it as sculpting light, actually grabbing it and pulling it along or pushing it or both as the case may be. Controlled panning along a prescribed path at variable frame rates and capture times is more like it.
At this point, I build machines, robots if you will and control the movement of the camera precisely while taking multiple or sequential exposures. It's really just all about the same things we are all concerned with: light, positioning, careful exposure and a carefully managed color workflow. I'm trying to master the process and I enjoy making machines and systems that enable me to more carefully control my shots.
Here's one of the robots I use and am working on (when I have time) (no I'm not a robotic specialist, just a sculptor who has an idiot/savant side in my brain).
Thanks for your kind words Endre - you are always such a gentleman.
Regards,
