I was looking for interesting clocks around my home and found out that we only have three clocks; alarm clock (not interesting at all), oven clock (again, not interesting at all) and our hall clock (it is a little interesting but nothing special). So, I moved on to personal timepices and came across this old pocket watch.

Hi Karen. Welcome again! You picked a beautiful fob to share. Nice work. I also like your choice of background. Looks like an old suit that my grandfather might have worn when wearing his watch.

Karen, though technically not a shot of a clock, this is one heck of a good photograph. The color, the lighting, the background, the composition - all perfect!

Thank you all for taking the time to look and comment. I figured I was ok with the pocket watch as I was seeing sun dials, hour glasses and stars submitted.
If it does not qualify thats ok as it was fun setting up and taking the shot which is something I really have never done before. I also learned a lot doing it.
Excellent work to produce this clear and colorful picture. It's up to Fred as to whether it will qualify but I've often seen widely different interpretations of assignments in the past. Anyway, the Oxford Dictionary has this definition of 'clock': "An instrument for measuring time, driven mechanically or electrically and indicating hours, minutes etc, by hands on a dial or by displayed figures."

You all are so helpful. I joined this forum after looking at many on the web. I found that the quality of the work of the individuals involved here was what I have been aspiring to. I found the comments provided to be specific, informative and helpful.

I agree this is a very nice shot.I also thought of taking a pic of my pocket watch but couldnt figure out the best angle, you did. Also your pic has the 28-70L classic look to it very sharp and contrasty.
