I like your photo, but not sure that the vignetting helps If this is in your house, did you try lighting it from the opposite side and putting the clock in the right third of the composition Just some thoughts. I love to experiment with my compositions and setups.

That is one very cool clock.......very 50's era with the 'sputnik' like points.
Jane is one to listen to when she gives out tips, so try some different lighting, and angles. Keep posting, for sure!

I supplemented the vignetting a bit, but it was quite pronounced even without any post processing. I definitely could have spent more time playing with angles and lighting as you both suggested.
These weekly assignments are a little frustrating because I seem to spend most of the week thinking about what I should do for them, then after I post I spend all my time thinking about what I should have done differently. I think a background with a complementary color would have really made the clock stand out.
