Here is a friend of mine from work. Not sure about his tattoos as I'm more on the religious side. But, he is a really nice guy.
C&C always welcome.

I have difficulties in seeing this as a sin, but it's a great picture!
The softness of the bike works very well in not distracting (I guess
you added that later). Great color too. The orange makes a great
contrast to the otherwise unsaturated appearance.

Hi Marc,
My opinion is that God sees this tattoo as a sin as it may glorify evil rather than God.
I added a desaturated layer, erased what I wanted colored. Sharpened - then softness was added later by adding a layer Gaussian blur and erasing the area that I wanted sharp. I did a little burning too.
Glad you like it.

Great job Christian. I think you've got another marvelously original take on the assignment here. Thanks for the processing discussion also.

Wow, this is a powerful picture, I especially like the way he is sitting, it really emphasizes the power and movement in the tatoo. They say your body is a temple, I can see where you might see this as a "sin". It's all in the interpretation.

A really fabulous capture, Christian! I'm so appreciative of you for giving us the post production steps...I'll be so glad when I learn what all PhotoShop can do. This is a perfect example of how a great image can be turned into something spectacular!

We may not agree that Tats are bad, or even that the subject matter on his back is objectionable, but we agree on what makes great photography.

LOVE IT!

Thanks Al,

You probably know by now I get a little "out there" sometimes. I think this fits OK for this week. Thanks for your comments

Thanks JEF, I appreciate you checking it out. My dad's t-shirt with the slogan "Everyone has a right to my opinion" should pretty much sum it up

Thanks so much Philly.
I don't think I would ever voluntarily put a tattoo on my body. However my girl friend, now wife, "made me" get an ear ring when we first met so how could I ever say never.....

This is awesome Christian!!!
To me, your title explains it well, it's a great take on the WA. Your PS skills are excellent, the use of selective color in many different areas as well as the different areas of sharpness looks like a a lot of work to accomplish. Well done. I'm always left wondering if 20 or 30 years down the road this person will still want tat lovely artwork on his body.

To each his own, but I have to wonder why anyone would want to do this to his body. But I digress, I am here to comment on your photography and post processing skills. Once again, they shine!

Wonderful shot i love this one! .. I see how sin could be confused in this image, but in my opinion the confederate flag held by confederate soldier simple could be taken as the justification and acceptence of slavery as for that was what the civil war was about, and that is what the south for the most part faught for ect.

Great treatment on this one Christian. I don't have any ink, not that I have a problem with those who do. This extreme may rank with gluttony and the like IMO. Great shot well done.

Nick,
The post processing was really not much, just something I been reading up on lately. I don't even know is If I did it "correctly", But, as I understand it; it's not how it's done, its the end result. I guess if he does not like it later, he can spend tons more to take it off
Thanks for your comments
