Thank you to those taking the time to look at my original entry. The original intent was not for the WA. After several tries ( You would have thought I committed a sin by my wifes response to one I had her pose for) a comment my wife made had me back to the drawing board. CC welcome

Good job with the lighting, Howard, but I am straining to figure it all out. Of course I recognize the clip, but please clue me in on the rest of the shot. I assume from your title that it is some type of assault gun.

Perhaps that's assault with a deadly weapon. It's kinda scary that you guys in the States are so freely able to obtain weapons like this but I think I had better not get into that argument here - I'll leave that to the Gun Lobby v the rest.

Back to the picture though. I like the way you've lit and focussed this to produce a quite sinister and disturbing image Howard. Well done.

The rest of the image is a muzzle of an military rifle. You see the flash suppressor/compensator and front sight. I guess I got too caught up with the lighting of the clip and should have lit up the barrel a bit more oh well.

Howard, what I know about guns wouldn't fill one of those cartridges, but your image is very compelling! Great lighting, and focus. I think it's a lovely image of a horrible subject.......and I mean that with deep respect.

Thank you Philly. My wife made the comment that my second image was too concrete. I decided a shot gun or pistol would not evoke the response that a military caliber rifle would. So I called a friend who collects guns. I found the bullets looked very threatning, more than the gun itself.

Thanks Endre, I feel the more incorrect the better the effect this week. The theme was sin. Anything sinful is usually offensive to many.

Light and color are great, but like others I don't quite get the
arrangement. I've seen enough movies ( ) to know that the magazine
is way off the place where it would go. To place it there would've been
more natural I think. And just showing the muzzle is kind of castrating.
It's also not where the source of the action is, that would be chamber
and trigger, and maybe a finger. So I reckon with a different
arrangement and composition you could indicate the deadly
potential better.

Nice take hh, the flash suppressor (used to direct the flash outward so as not to blind the shooter if fired in darkness) in the BG is just the right amount of the gun showing. Well done!
