Jane and I stopped for lunch today at 3 Thirty 1 Cafe. With good food and a view like this, who notices the plastic flowers in the "French" vase?

Beautiful idea. Nice softness to the clouds. Love the reflection. Cant make up my mind if too many flowers. Dont forget 257 in the front.

Beautiful Shot Robert. I think I would like just a little space above the flower, but I can see how that probably wasn't possible.

I agree with you, AL, but I don't think that the owner, Ollie Petite, who is anything but petite, would have appreciated my pruning his flowers.

Howard and Bill, there are so many wonderfully talented photographers who post here regularly that I wouldn't dare attempt to name them. They are all the ones whom you have listed, among others. I count them and you among my friends and mentors. Through this forum's participants, who unselfishly share setups, techniques, props and processes - both physical and mental - Jane and I have benefited immensely.

The challenge is not to win, or even to make the finals; the challenge is to do our best, knowing that our best had better be pretty darn good, because so many of you will also be striving for your best. Suddenly, "Give me your best shot," has a whole new meaning.

This is a special place. Thank you all for making it so.

This is such an unusal shot, Robert! I love it. All the good aspects of this shot are too long to list - the perspective, the DOF, the lighting, etc, etc, etc. Nothing to say but Bravo!

Patty, you are always so kind and thoughtful with your comments. The "ledge" that you see is the table top inside the restaurant. The table, which was butted against the wall with the window above it, has one of those thick mirror-like polyurethane finishes on it. I moved the salt and pepper shakers and Jane's elbows from the table, set the camera down on the end of the table opposite the window and fired away. I did very little post processing - enhanced the blue sky a bit in HS and added a little sharpening.

Thank you, my friend. I am always glad to hear that you like a particular photo.

This one simply popped up. Jane and I were heading up to the northern end of the county to what we call our North Walton Studio, which is an old abandoned service station - the source of her entry, and we had stopped at 3-Thirty-1 Cafe for lunch. We sat down at the table, I took one look out the "window" and went back to the car for the camera. Sometimes we just get lucky.
