No, this isn't green shag carpet from the early '70's, it's seaweed. Saw this growing on rocks at Sackets Harbor on Lake Ontario. Taken this morning.

Cool picture Nick, with a very interesting assortment of shades of green, nice capture!
Oh boy, it really looks like the shag carpets, thanks for the quick trip to memory land…

Veeery nice, much nicer than the thumbnail would hint, and probably nicer still in print. The rocks even give a hint of the gold shag that completes the remembrance of that (IMO) nasty era of decorating style!

This is a really nice bright image Nick, the greens are absolutely vibrant but natural looking. I love the added texture from the water motion also

Thanks Photon. I don't miss either the green shag or the gold shag we had in our house growing up. What were my parents thinking when they actually paid to have that installed?
