Absolutely wondeful shot, Jim! Perfect for the topic. Of course, I'd have much preferred that the pretty girl in the back be in focus but that's just me. Oh well... we can always dream!

It's a rhinestone palm tree to draw attention to the black thing-a-ma-bob that covers the jiggly bits that you don't want to draw too much attention to, but you want to be noticed for the jiggly bits - but not noticed too much. Comprehend?

Thank you Peter, and Bill for the wonderful comments. I orginally titled it "A Sixteen year-olds Sweet Dream". Then my wife remembered the hit Ringo Starr song "You're Sixteen"...which contains the line "Out of my Dreams and into my Arms". to which I changed the title. It's a song from my youth as well, but not quite ancient.

Nice shot, well setup. Like how the sky and the bottle add to the feeling of dreaming, though dont get the baseball in the photo, though you couldnt do anything about it. Love your composition. Was this shot on an overcast day?

Well, I'm glad you were right too. However, I know it is a subjective process to the finals, and I try not to form any opinion on even my own work until it reaches the final round. I delivered a senior portrait to client about 9 months ago where they choose a photo I felt was very inferior to virtually all the other 60 or so choices I gave them. I asked why they choose this particular one for the 8x10's (they choose 4-5 other shots at various sizes smaller). The reason was because it showed the back yard so well. I left and sat in my car shaking my head...I thought the young lady was the subject to capture...so, you never know what will appeal to someone...nor what seemingly unrelated portion of an image will get them to choose it over another image. Whatever, the image has to have impact...so I chalked that one up to mis-reading the client.
