As a kid, there was an ice cream bar called a Dreamsicle. This was the first thought that I had when I saw the WA theme. They aren't made anymore, but these came close, with a bit of color correction in PS. C&C appreciated as always!!!

I would not have expected anything less! Perhaps as with my shot as well Jane they don't scream out the assignment subject at face value without their title but you have a wonderful semi-abstract art piece that I would love to hang. Slightly mind bending and I love it.

A real pop art piece Jane. Andy Warhol - like. I think I might have put the line of the stick on a true diagonal, but not sure of that without playing with it.

Jane,

I loved dreamsicles, and I totaly forgot about them.

Great capture and it fits the WA perfectly. My only tiny nit pick would be that I feel the dreamsicle itself is a tiny bit flat, and I would like to see a bit more defining shadow on the melt line and in the concave on the face of the treat. I know it's a tiny nit, but I appreciate people helping me expand my vision and thoughts on my work.

I love the shot and love the way it makes me remember my childhood. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Chuck

Hi there! Glad you liked it. I put the stick in some vice grips and mounted it so it didn't move on some free weights . Then we put two lights, one a softbox, on it and waited for it to melt. I set my camera on burst and tried to time it. I wasn't perfect, and the one that was natural, was soft because it was in motion--so on this one, I cut off the minute tail and you have what you see--then we ate it .

Thanks for commenting and I hope that I answered your question

Andy, huh?? Well I am not quite iconic I did try putting it on a true diagnonal which wan't that much of a move, and I actually like it better this way--creates just a bit of tension in the composition.

Thanks for your thoughtful commentary!!! And glad you liked it overall.

Chuck, thanks for your comments. As you can see, I did add a bit of relief to the drop and the melt line. I also appreciate all comments.!!!

This is very nice Jane,
The bright color against the black background looks great. The drip is a great touch, how did you do that? As a child we got popsicles most of the time but every now and we would get dreamsicles, what a treat. This brought back memories.
