Thanks so much, Peter, my friend! So glad you like it! Disclaimer: No instruments were harmed in the making of this shot.

Well Endre....you've finally ruined a perfectly good instrument for this WA.
Good thing the shot is great to make it all worthwhile! I really like the clarity
super job

I like this one...the eye especially. I have a shot with my boys eye where the lake and beach are reflecting in the green of his eye...thought about doing something like that again this week, but didn't. Good luck Endre!

No fair. Why do you have to be so good?
*sound of flibble scribbling out a giant subscription of rubbish pills*
Right. Take that. I'd say one every 6 seconds should short you out(sorry, "sort" you out - slip of the tongue). You know you can trust Dr. Flibble to make sure your medication is in your best interests.
Maybe pop a few lilac ones every couple of minutes if you feel yourself feeling splendid in any way.

Spectacular. So appropriate for you being the violinist. Hope this wasnt your Stradivarius. This would be a great perspective for a abstract self portrait.

Thanks so much, Jim! As always, you kind opinion is very much appreciated and I'm so glad you like it. Since really the eye is the focus of attention, I'm delighted you like it the best!
Fond regards,
Endre

"No fair. Why do you have to be so good?" What on earth do you mean? Don't forget, I have to compete with you, Dr. Fibble! My suggestion is that you ask Matron to permit you to self-medicate some of those blue and pink rubbish pills along with a generous dosage of those lilac "anti-splendid" ones for good measure. As far as I'm concerned, there is entirely too much stiff competition coming from your locked ward. (Where is Sue when we need her?) That way, we can even the playing field for next week.
By the way, I showed your portraits of Mildred and George to Csilla who agreed with me that they are quite possibly the most beautiful cat photos ever taken.
Thaks for the prescription and the kind comment.
Do take your pills.
Fond regards,
Endre

Awww... you're too kind, Philly. Thanks so much. I really appreciate it! Of course, it's easy to recognize one of mine when an f-hole is part of the photo.
All best wishes,
Endre

Thanks so much, HH. I appreciate your kind comments. Jess could see from the shape of the f-hole that this couldn't have been my Strad although, as I pointed out earlier, no violins were harmed in the making of this shot so (under the right circumstances) it may as well have been the Strad. I'd need to re-shoot it as a self portrait since it's my daughter's eye. She is a LOT prettier than I am!
All the best,
Endre

Thanks so much for the comment, Marc. So glad you like it. I couldn't think of any more unusual perspective than from inside a violiin - something 99.999 % of people will never see.
Fond regards,

Endre,
That fits the assignment spot on. For when has one ever
been inside a violin? Good lighting; great skin tone!

Well, I can't get all the details here, but it looks to me like a composite. Your daughter's eye shows a light reflection at the top which doesn't look right to me if her eye were close up to the belly (her eyelash is casting a shadow on the reflection). If I'm right about that, then it is still not obvious how to get the inside view of the f-hole unless there is a hole in the back for some reason...?
A well done bit of photo-magic Endre! I'll be watching to learn the answer.

Thanks for the comment, Al. Glad you like it.
Interesting theory. All will be revealed in due time. Muahahahahahah! (Fibble's copyrighted Evil Laugh!)
All the best,
Endre

Endre,
This should be sent to an orchestra geek type magazine. There is an orchestra geek mag right? If not, you should start one and make this the cover shot.
Nicely done.

Thanks so much, Christopher. I'm so glad you like this. You're right, I ought to send this to Strad magazine but first I want to write an article about my own violin and its clone copy whtich would be illustrated by my photos of them both. Thanks for the idea, though. Since this isn't a shot of my own Strad inside, I might not have thought of it.
All best wishes,
Endre
