Just perfect! I love shells, too, but never would have gotten this capture with my camera. It's just beautiful, and I agree with Judi. Another excellent image, Endre!

Hey buddy!! Sorry I have been away for a bit. This one is exceptional. How do you bring this type of stuff to the table once again. It never fails to amaze me of what you got on hand. I need to visit and pay a cover to get in to your archive. I have one of these in my fish tank and let me tell you, its nothing like this. What a perfect take on natures patterns you got here.. but of course, its Endre and it wouldn't be anything different but from great stuff.

I hesitate to critique your shots which are consistently of a very high standard like this one, but I wanted to ask if you were using direct lighting here because there seems to be quite a few points of reflection on the shell?

Awww, thanks so much Steve, my friend! I really appreciate all your kind words. Several people have told me that we need a docent to show people around our house. I have managed to collect a lot of nice stuff throughout the years but this shell isn't something that ordinarily I'd even consider to be all that noteworthy. I always try to find the beauty in everything I shoot so even a "lowly" shell can make a wonderful subject. Of course, in God's creation nothing is that "lowly", as this extraordinary example of natural beauty attests.

Thanks for the comment, Bill. Is having several points of reflection a negative deserving critique? Actually, I rather like the effect of those multiple highlights. Anyway, I shot this in the kitchen with the 8 overhead lights all on full blast, so that would certainly account for the many reflections. You've got really keen eyes, Bill. I appreciate hearing from you.

Lovely subject Endre. Love the detail. F22 and 95mm at 8 sec is an interesting exposure. Close-up lens?

Great take Endre, one of my first thoughts when I saw the assignment. The depth is explained by the f/22, my first thought was that this may be a focus stack because of the way it pops off of the screen. Nice work here.

Thanks so much, Al. I appreciate your kind comment. I don't have a proper Macro lens so I use my 70 - 200 f 2.8 L lens with an extender tube. It seems to work very well.

Thanks a lot, Tom, my friend! It is always nice to read your kind comments. "Focus stack" I may have done it but I'm unfamiliar with the exact term. Does that mean multiple exposures at different focus points all put together? If so, this isn't one.
