Purchased this from an FMer and I've been using it for several months but at this point I can't be sure I'll have much use for it in college, and frankly it's huge, expensive, and since I don't see myself needing it for Nikons, I'm selling.
The lens is in perfect optical condition, focuses quicky and performs like a dream. Sharper than I had ever imagined.
I love this lens. If it was easier for a weakling like me to handle and if I could be assured it would be used constantly in college, I'd keep it.
This is one of the first ones produced- serial no. is within the first 50. Cosmetically it is in pretty good shape. Some minor wear, the biggest thing was there when I got it- a blue mark on the lens barrel.
Both the small and large lens feet are included, as is the hard case, front and rear caps, both stages of the lens hood, and even the original strap.
The only real issue you might have is with the second stage of the lens hood. The threads inside the locking screw's collar are stripped. This originally happened on the first stage but I switched the screw assemblies. I'm going to order a replacement from Nikon service, and replace it before selling.
I'll be sorry to see it go.

TRADES: I would be open to a very limited array of trades. Most would be trade+cash to me for the 400mm. I'm looking for a Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 USM (IS or non-IS) in good condition (cosmetics not a huge problem, but optics must be pristine), or other canon long glass (perhaps a 400mm f/4 DO IS). I'd also be willing to do a part trade for a Canon 35mm f/1.4L USM, 85mm f/1.2L USM (II) and/or 135mm f/2L USM.
