Thank you, I too love the colors.

I hope you don't mind me referring you to my My First Time Shooting With Strobes. It's not in the FM archives, it's just gone so I have to provide a link to another forum where you can read it the same post.
What were your settings?
Bruce,
F2.8 - F3.2,
250 Shutter (at 320 I saw the curtain peeking in so I kept it at 250)
ISO was set to 400 for the close basket and 800 for the across the court shots
Keep up the good work.
Bruce
I'll try to, thanks for looking and for you comments.

Wow, great pictures and a excellent lightning with a astounding non-flash look.
This is the best compliment I have received so far about my shots. I appreciate your comments very much.
The light is very soft and the shadows are very creamy.
Could you possiby describe the settings?
I too like the creamy soft lighting, to tell you the truth, I was very impressed how they look the first time I set up the strobe. As far as the camera setting, please read my first reply above. I did took a few shots where I placed the strobe so I'll have to find it and post in a few minutes for you.

Nice shots, but please give a bit more specifics on your setup.
Thanks for your kind comments. Please read My First Time Shooting With Strobes.
Bounced off ceiling from the corner?
Yes, I promise to post a pic showing where I place the strobe in a few minutes.
Full power?
Yes, AB800 full power.

These are really nice shots.
Thank you
The even lighting makes them all pop and they really don't "look flashed". Good action and the color is great.
Nice work.
Mike
Mike, I really appreciate your comments, specially coming from someone who is a sports shooter member. Thank you for looking.
Here are the pics that show where I placed the strobe. I feel I didn't do a good job with these pics, I should have taken one behind the strobe so that the court angle was clearly visible. These were shot with the kit lens 18-55mm at different stops.
Thank you for the pictures of the setting. I think the white walls and the white roof are excellent for reflecting the light. And for that reason the light is so creamy.
Your welcome. Yes the white wall and ceiling helps diffuse the light giving me the soft light. I'm glad I was able to contribute something to this forum. I've learned so much from you guys and I hope this helps someone one who's starting out.

William...very impressive. Thank for all the setup information.
Your welcome. I'm glad you guys find my efforts informative and maybe you can learn something from it and put it to work for you.
What sort of permission did you get before setting this up? Did you talk to the coach or athletic director or just arrive and set it up?
This was the easy part for me since I do work for the school district, I know the school principals and coaches of all the sports, most student players and some parents too. However, this is the first year I try to take action shots of the basketball teams. The green and white team (girl's) are off to the playoffs and the coach beg me to shoot his team this Saturday. The boys are also off to the playoffs and I will be shooting them on Friday.
