Hi Albert,
I like your entry a lot and it's definitely one of my favorites this month. I also liked learning about your process a little bit, and I like that you used in camera B&W and actually printed the image instead of photoshopping it in (not that there's anything wrong with photoshop, but alternative techniques are often more fun). I'm curious about a couple of things, and I noticed you haven't had many critiques, so:
Is the outer-image (your hand) also desaturated? It doesn't look sepia like the inner-photo, but there's definitely not much color in it. I wonder if (given the lack of color in the inner-photo) a brightly colored sleeve would have added more pop? Of course, it could easily have been too distracting.
About the inner-photo itself, I like the lighting and old-timey look and I think that landscape was a good (and less common) choice here. But with the semi-tight framing of your face I'm not sure if it's more of a potrait or more of an "eyes" shot. If you wanted to emphasize your eyes, I think you could have gone with an even closer crop (maybe just mid forehead to just above your nostrils) or if you're concentrating on the whole portrait, keep the mid-forehead at the top but don't cut off your chin on the bottom. Of course, as I said I really like it and the cropping you picked doesn't look bad to me, I'm just curious if you played with other possibilities?
Again, great image!
Andrew
