Crop dusters stay busy in West Texas. According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, in 2005, more than 3.72 million acres in 41 counties in Texas were planted to upland cotton. Of that, 3.43 million acres were harvested totaling more than 5,620,000 million 480-pound bales generating almost $2 billion in cash receipts.
