The shirt was black I snuck up on my colleague as he was taking pictures of some nice light on the Berlin horizon. He is using some small junky camera while waiting for his K10D to arrive.
M8, 50 Lux Asph. Who says this lens doesn't have the same bokeh the non-Asph has? You just have to have an M8 which can't focus right, and bingo!

Forgive me if I decline your suggestion for alternative equipment ....

Thanks for the laugh, Carsten. I hope you get it sorted out soon, but in the meantime, I'm sure having a great sense of humor helps.
In search for a solution to mount an IR filter on the 15 CV, I measured the hood's inner diameter and I realized that maybe a 37mm filter could have been positioned inside the integrated hood, just in front of the frontal element.
I ordered a B+W UV/IR-CUT F-PRO 37mm and this week I received it.
I "semi-glued" it using a thin layer of black silicone on the filter ring, then gently pressing the filter in front of the lens.
The frontal element of the 15 protrudes, so the filter would touch it in the center, but the silicon layer adds just enough space to separate them.
It's not an "elegant" solution, as if you want to remove the filter you'll end with cleaning the lens from the silicone around the glass, but giving I have only the M8 as rangefinder I don’t need to remove the filter anytime soon.
There’s the usual drift toward cyan at edges, but curiously not too much, considering the focal lenght. I need to test more but my 21 Elmarit asph seems to show more.
There’s no vignetting from the filter.
This is wide open, showing the natural vignetting of the 15 CV (not too much anyway and it can be eliminated with +25 setting in PS):
Another solution for filters on the CV 15mm is to use the filter adapter made by CV for their 12mm ultra wide. It clamps on. Before using, you must use some black electrician's tape on the outside of the 15mm lens' built on hood. The CV adapter has slots in it and accepts 77mm filters. I bought mine to use a polarizer, since I already had a 77mm pol filter. Only disadvantage is that after putting the tape on the 15mm, the push-on lens cap no longer fits. I fixed that by removing the felt liner from the cap. Steven Gandy sell the adapter here: http://www.cameraquest.com/voigtlen.htm
Thanks David, I thought about that solution too but I didn't like the idea to permanently attach a big 77mm filter in front of this tiny lens, which is very portable indeed.
Also, it costs almost nothing... 37mm filter apart, which is 50 € anyway
Well, I thought I wouldn't need a 35mm (ie. 50mm) lens. I had decided on 15/28/50/75. Then walking around I found that the 50 is just too tight, and given the relatively spacious streets of Berlin, I had learned early that I didn't like the 35mm focal length as much as the 50mm. Then I suddenly had the opportunity to get a 35mm Summicron Asph at a good price, and I jumped. It arrived today, and I love the little thing to death. The size is much better, and the focal length is like a fresh breath of air. The 50 Lux Asph is a wonderful lens, but I find it hard to get along with on the camera all the time. It is just too tightly framed. I will keep it handy, and the 35 on the camera.
Strangely, the camera seems to focus better with this lens than with the 50 Lux Asph. I also tried a 75 Lux at my dealer today, and still had some trouble getting the focus right on, but Herr Philip had less trouble than me. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but it seems that I consistently focus a little too far. There is a small vertical offset in the rangefinder, and perhaps I just deal with that less well than Herr Philip. Anyway, when things settle down a bit at Leica, I will take it in.
Many thanks go to Martin Brink! He is great to deal with, and even threw in a wrist-strap for the camera.
Maybe your 35/2 is focusing better because the 50 lux has its much shorter depth of field? Have you tried using a 1.25 magnifier with 50 lux?
If you liked the size of the 35 cron ASPH, you should look at the lens it replaced. The pre-asph 35s were about 50% smaller! While your at it, also check out its sibling, the pre-asph 35/1.4 - it's also smaller than the 35 cron asph, and f1.4 to boot.

I am still in the 15 & 28mm mode for lots of my shots. The 50 does seem a little too tight for most tasks at th moment (shooting arounf York). I have a 35 also, but have not used it much. Maybe I should go out with only that lens one day....
I was actually looking for a 35/2 IV, but then this opportunity came along. I know that it is larger, but I am not sure that I would really want it much shorter. This one seems just right.
Dave, try the 35. It was never my focal length, but now it is. Keep the 28/50 in your pocket if you are feeling insecure.

Well, if you are insecure, you might want to slip a 90mm elmarit in your pocket . . .
(Or really to impress, try a 75mm 'lux) http://www.6887.com/photo/00twins.jpg
I'm glad you like the 35 on the M8.
Giving on full frame you always loved 50mm and didn't like 35mm, it is indeed your logical choice.
Just as it happened to me with the 28 asph... I was never a fan of 50mm, preferring the slightly wider perspective of 35mm (I had the 35L on my 1Ds and loved it, dimensions apart).
On the M8 I now use the 28 as 35mm and the 50mm (which I never used) is now a moderate tele which I like more.
I don't miss a 35mm, save maybe the Summilux with its great bokeh
I agree about the focussing of the 50 asph, my sample at least is probably harder to correctly focus than the 90 Apo
Not to mention compared to the 28 asph, which is almost impossible to misfocus
