Julien, I like this - it is a very nice photograph. The trees are a very different sort of line from any other entry so far!

Awsome image. The line of trees, the color, clouds and mood. Great entry.

Interesting. How did those trees get out there?

Thanks everyone for the comments.
I'm sorry for not commenting other's entry but I hardly get time to post these days.

Those trees are actually dead and are marking the begining of mussels culture parcels, a place where I often fish...

My dear friend Julien! Where have you been You've been missed.

Brilliant shot! This is one of the best shots of yours I've seen. Bravo! A finalist for sure amid a field of great photos.

All the best,

Endre

Julian,

You have nailed it with this one. I, too, am interested in knowing how the trees got there. Is this a recent impoundment?

Endre : Hi my friend and thanks a lot for the kind words
I've been really busy lately working and kayak fishing (another passion for me) as it's the good season now.
I'm still lurking around from times to times but don't have not enough time to comment the entries (you're always coming with excellent ones).
Sometimes I manage to post like for this WA and last MA (lightning shot among the finalists for once ).

Peter : Thanks a lot for your comment. I'm glad you like it.

Cheers !

Thanks Robert,

Actually they are more branches than trees and they are used to mark the begining of mussels culture parcels, fully visible at low tide.

A good image creates some feeling or emotion. This one leaves me with a haunting or eerie sensation. Nice capture.

Great photo. I like the desolation implied by having known objects, yet not being tied to land or anything too familiar. Also, the weather -- clouds, lighting, colors -- works well with the water and its surface quality -- chop -- and the time of day.

It's not really that applicable to the subject of the contest though: "Lines"

Thanks for your comment.
When I look at it I see lots of lines of different size but maybe you're right.

Lovely image. It's unusual and the composition is just great. I guess the only way you could improve on an already superb image is to have a much longer shutter and one of those smooth water shots.

The lines work so well with the trees at odds with the lines of the horizon and the clouds. I guess with global warming this kind of image might become more prevalent!

Thanks a lot for your comment Suse.
I would have tried a longer shutter speed if I wasn't on a boat
I hope man will once realize the threat of global warming and change his bad habits
