The sw camera does not come with any lenses..it is body only for €799.
rangefinder ikon is €1300 approx. for body only.
They both take the same lenses.
Hey!! Are they all the rumours we can come up with?! Surely there is more than that!
So to keep there thread going, here is one that has been a well kept secret:
The Contax 645 MkII will finally be made available and will have a dedicated Phase One P45 back. Furthermore, those leaf shutter lenses that Contax promised from the introduction of the first Contax 645 will finally appear.

Invoices are fine, just be wary of invitations to "special events"

I'm still waiting for that Fuji digital back announced four years a go. If Fuji isn't showing working cameras that the press can touch, I suggest making no plans.
I announced my own digital back three years ago, and I've performed as well as Fuji.
And along side the new contax will come a set of tilt and shift lenses..just like the canon ones..but good...including one wide enough to deal wiht the crop factor of the digital backs...ahhh...oh and this contax will be much lighter than the old one..and a bit smaller...with a good battery...

They definately sorted out the battery issue, and they speed up the AF too and gave it 5 AF points with a joystick selector just like in the N1/N Digital. Oh, and I almost forgot, one new accessory: a 45 degree AE prism.
So basically we are looking for a lightweight and compact medium format body that can take the zeiss lenses (including the new tilt/shift ones I mentioned) and take film and digital backs..a stunning clear waist level finder screen (for compactness and portability in the field)with optional 45 degree prism and top notch autofocus but the lenses must still be able to be focussed manuallly in the traditional manner......
so is this:
a compact contax 645?
a film / digital autofocus mamiya 7?
or an alpa with real rangefinder and autofocus mounted lenses?
..and of course all with those new tilt shift lenses...
On the F6 chassis! That would be awesome. If the dynamic range is good, this sounds like a great combination. I want one.

It would be really neat if they would release a Canon-mount version. This would make a great backup camera for the 5D.
How wide do you need? Is the Schneider PC SUPER ANGULON 28mm f2.8 shift lens not wide or good enough? I suppose not on a crop body, but what about on a FF Canon?
I do also use 5x4 for interior / exterior shift shots but have to / like to be able to do some shift stuff with the dslr setup.
On the ff canon I use the 24tse..that is the kind of width I like / want / need.
But of course because of the crop factor on nikon, etc I am tied into ff canon and its 24mm tse whereas for every other lens I would rather be using nikon for its great wide zoom and primes / upcoming zeiss zf primes without adapter hassles...I don't use longer lenses much so have no preference about canon / nikon glass there.
I seriously doubt it. Companies like Zeiss and Leica have not reverse engineered mounts in the past, and will only support mounts with open specifications. Canon does not share mount information with other companies, to my knowledge.
