Aw geeez, Jane! I can't think of a thing for "Sin" and you come up with this creepy shot!! I agree with Ed - this is absolutely masterful in every way although you should have probably saved it for the annual spooky shot WA contest that happens around Halloween. Where did you get the little girl? She's perfect! Not to mention the lurker in the shadows. Good heavens! You do have a dark imagination :worried: :worried: :worried:

Fantastic shot. The lurker might be Robert

, but the girls reaction is just natural. She looks startled to see the guy, and has stopped in her tracks. Just at the right spot too, right under the lights. Which contrasts with the shadows the guy is hiding in. Very nicely set up.

That's one fab shot, Jane. In fact, imho, it's probably one of the best you've posted. Fantastic composition, and the technical quality of the shot/lighting is wonderful.

I'm really intrigued how you did the set up, as i didn't think low light shots were a forte of the 1D mark 2 ? Would love to see the exif.

The litle girl's stance absolutely makes the shot! The expression in her arms really tells the story.

Ok--here's the scoop, the whole scoop, and nothing but the scoop. No pun intended---

I had eye surgery Thursday, and didn't think I would be posting anything this week. Couldn't see you know what

. Robert and I rode to Orlando to see my son, Josh, Kelly, and 2 of our grandkids--Morgan (age 4) and Cameron (age 1). Well, we took them to Cold Stone Creamery and Robert took pictures of Mema (that would be me) playing on the sidewalk outside the ice cream store. When we looked at them I said--man that is great lighting for a predator, good evil, shot. So we went back last night and had Robert lurk in the shadows. Morgan is very animated--did I say very animated

and this is the result. They are both little angels

I was able to see enough to compose the shot and press the shutter button. Robert helped with the post-processing as I was unable to see the keyboard. And I must say he takes directions pretty well

I am glad you all like it, and for the answer to the last two questions--the ice cream was great!!! And my eyes are recovering--should be good as new in a couple of days.

The 85mm ( using the 1.2) is a dream of a lens for low light shots, and dof creativity. I think this lens is what makes the difference in the low light shot--much more so than the camera body being used. Thanks again.

Thanks Tom. It was a hard subject I think to pull off, but with Little Morgan's fantastic modeling

and Robert's wonderful lurking

Nailed it. Didn't see the shadow man till I zoomed the image, because I was so busy concetrating on trying to reconcile the little girl with the title!

Can you lighten up the face of the man in shadow about 10% so it's a little easier to see? I think that would add to the power of the shot. Still has my vote, so far!

Thanks for the input. If I lighten it up, then everyone will be able to see Robert and it would absolutely ruin the effect. He is much too goodlooking and looks like too nice a guy to be a lurker. Besides I like the surprise factor when one discovers him. Thanks--I really appreciate your vote and vote of confidence.
