i was leaning more towards the fact that you dont have to plug it in and need a screen and joystick to play it. Wood pieces and a board, simple and elegant. Indeed chess isnt simple for everyone, otherwise it would be checkers

I'm thinking that it may have been a good idea to stop it down a bit, as the focus on the king piece doesn't get the point of the picture across.

I get what you mean...

I've happened to play chess with my 13 yr. old son almost every day for the past month (we go through phases). Simple and often forgotten pasttimes such as this can be some of the best time we have together.

Nice job and take on the assignment.
