Right you are...... I remember those bachelor days vividly.....I was flush with spare change.....so much so I treated myself to a Zorki II rangefinder with a nice formfitted pigskin case and leather strap....my first camera ever . (By the way, at that time Canon was still trying to understand the workings of German cameras before they could start copying them with some success.)

My time is ending in a few months...so I picked up a 600 this spring so I will not have to hide it (hard to do with a 600 even with camo). I also purchased a backup camera...um I mean a camera for her so we could shoot together.

Yes. That's the good thing about it.. I have 400 2.8 IS + misc other EF lenses and 4 bodies now so if my bachelor days should end some day I guess I have everything covered.. No girl I know can see the difference between a 5D/D30/20D with grip and a 1D MK2

Your just not thinking hard enough, Get a lamp shade and hey presto you have a new lamp!
Or what about that picture of the coffee table using 4 1 series bodies and a couple of L's as the legs of the table! Now thats a great way of hiding your "Backup" (Old) cameras and exotic lens collection!!
