I haven't read the whole thread, but I can certainly sympathize. I just got back from a trip to Vienna, and the first day, I carried my Domke F-2 with everything I own (except tripod), and it was way heavy. My back was aching within an hour. When I got back to the hotel, I took out my chargers, spare flash batteries and my flash, and reconfigured the inside to make the camera much more readily accessible. The rest of the trip was very nice. I had all my lenses, and the bag was over a pound lighter than that first day. I must say what a difference a pound makes. My bag in its normal configuration is great for everyday use, and photo-specific jaunts, but the lighter, more accessible configuration (it takes about 30 seconds to switch) is much better for a day of sightseeing.
Just finishing up my trip here in Asia and have been using the M7 with 35/1.7, 50/2, and 90/2 apo. Favored my ilford b&w over the fuji slides mostly. Let me tell you something, shooting with a RF can be frustrating at times, you will miss some shots if you're not great with manual focusing like I am, but boy it is fun. When I get home and back to digital, I'm sure i'll need to add a false film advance lever Also like that I don't know what I have until I get home, bit of a surprise. I find myself enjoying my time here more not having to submit myself to the post processing gods every night.
