The 24 really will be a 36mm so it's not too wide. My vote is for the Tokina 12-24mm for around $480.00. Solid lens that takes great photos.

Can you give some details on the post-processing of the that pic.

FWIW: One of the very few things I didn't like about my D70 was how reds looked. Never did get anything as good as that pic of yours.

JohnG, Hi! I used Photokit Color plugin to enhance the reds or green or blues in my D-70 images. I also processed this image in Photoshop curves in Lab color.
