OK...I finally got enough $$$ saved up and bought myself a Nikon D70s. Yea for me!!
Anyway, I've been experimenting with it and cannot figure out how to get my portrait oriented photos to automatically rotate when I copy the files off my CF card onto my computer. When I'm scrolling through the photos, all portrait/vertically oriented photos are landscape oriented on the PC.
How do I get it set so that the files automatically show up with the right orientation?
Maybe I'm missing something too, but I don't think it is automatic - that's just for when you're viewing on the chimp screen. Unless you shoot raw, in which case the thumbnail view on your PC will still show it incorrectly as landscape but the Nikon software will know to rotate it when it opens it. I never use it, personally.
I believe that you can choose to see them rotated on both the chimp screen and the PC, or just on the PC. On my wife's D70 we have it set up so that it's rotated on both. Pictures will show up rotated in NikonView. They should look rotated in Picture Project (haven't used that though) and in Nikon Capture as well. I doubt that it would be rotated in ACR, but don't know. I mainly use the D100 which doesn't rotate at all...
