Took out the 35-70 last night to use it shooting a theatre show. Discovered that there is a problem with the focusing mechanism when trying to shoot infinity. Its jammed or locked up and won't go all the way to infinity, thus my D100 which I was using it on wouldn't take a picture because of this. Not to mention - its not worth taking the pic if its gonna be out of focus.
So - looks like I am going to have to have it repaired - or maybe the guy that sold it to me can exchange it again for another like he did the last time I had a problem.
Anyhow... Even though I have had a couple of problems with this lens, I still like it a lot. Its a good low-light lens for my theatre shooting.
hmm... thanks for your reply.. I'm taking it back to my guy at Henry's to see if there is anything he can do about a replacement - and failing that - then its off to Nikon for repair.

Hope you will be able to get it replaced or repaired...
Thanks to your advice a few months ago, I bought one used and this became one of my favourite lenses...
