Lovely photo... but, as with a lot of the flower shots here, I fail to see the correlation to the MA title; that is, "Negative Space"...

I like it too, and I think it fits the theme, since the variation in background tones functions as an important element in the composition; i.e., the negative space is balanced with the positive, without competing with it.
