Call nikon and ask how much the bottom plate is...
If you check out the websites dedicated to IR conversions, I think that thing is really easy to replace... even easier than removing the whole sensor...
It'll be good as new... the water usually doesnt do squat...
Hey Daniel, too bad it isn't a D100. When it finally dies you could disassemble it and take some snaps of it with your new D2X and post them. Then we could all see how much metal is really in that bad boy.
I took this photo of someone we might know, plotting how to get into the fountain with a D70 without getting it wet. Anyone know who it might be, and what might be underneath his non-waterproof shirt?
Oh, I found another one -- "Some people play it safe by sitting on the side of a fountain with zooms. Our tazo gets right in there and isn't afraid to get dirty (or wet) while making the shot.
