I bought a used Nikon S3 rangefinder in 1963 and a new "F" in 1964. I still have the F and wish I still had the S3. I've owned and used about 10 different Nikons since then in a 35 year professional career.
N80 when I went autofocus (great camera, BTW). Did Olympus OM series before that (overall much nicer system than contemporary manual Nikons). N80 was MUCH superior ergonomically to EOS, and both Nikon and Canon had digital path once the systems evolved a bit more.
Old Nikkormat, the one with the external meter coupling prong like a Nikon F. Had an FM for a short time, and then an FE and Nikkormat FT3. I still have both of those. In between Nikon addictions, I had an Olympus Pen F and then an Olympus Pen FT. Also took thousands of pictures with a Leica M3 but it needs new shutter curtains now. The Canon G6 and the D70 are the only cameras I use now.
