p.1 #1 · 18-70 sharp?

I've been wondering recently just how sharp the kit lens is. Johnny McFadden informed me that if it's not sharp it isn't the lens' fault. After looking at a few shots I got today I'm inclined to believe him. The more I use the kit lens - the more impressed I am with it.

Heck yes its sharp, my 18-70 is super sharp on a consistant basis... No where near my 50 1.8 but uh thats a different story.

Yes, I too find the 18-70 very sharp... an excellent lens all around, IMHO. Here's another shot to prove it.

It's a very good consumer lens but compare it to nearly any prime in Nikons lineup and you will see differences in contrast and sharpness.

No doubt about it. I got the fantastic plastic 50 1.8 and love it to death. But the 18-70 has been surprising me lately.
