DOF of a 50mm lens at f/1.0 is approximately 1cm. This lens would be handy for outdoor scenery in low light, but forget about trying to take portraits of any kind, at least where the person fills the frame.
If anyone is looking for one of these lenses - then this is the one to buy! I bought Erik's last 50 1.0 on behalf of a friend. It was described as mint - and that's exactly what it was - infact better . The friend who bought it was completely astounded at the condition - was like it was taken straight off the store shelf! You can't go wrong buying from Erik.

Here is a candid shot in daylight - handheld, ISO 200, f1.0, 1/12800s (or some speed to that effect)

Man, I'd love to have one of these lenses, but I'd be scared to walk around with it mounted for fear that it would get dinged, no matter how paranoid I am about my gear.

To give a brief response to all interested so far, this lens is mint and no scratches whatsoever on the glass. There may be a few tiny dust specks in the rear element, but I would need to verify when I get home.
I know the lens that was just sold on another forum for 1800.00 was priced way too low, and congrats to whoever gotten that deal. But I have no intent to sell this lens at that price, I apologize to everyone.
