Buck, that's a marvelous shot of the kayak on the banks of Bad Water. Quite a choice of complimentary colors that is just so pleasing to the eye. Wonderful.
Loved to read and look at the pictures. Both - words and the pictures - are great but the combination makes it a real experience. I feel like I was there.
Outstanding storytelling, Buck. Really enjoyed sharing your adventure. Like the others, I agree that the first image is top-notch, but I must admit to favoring the red plant with your pals in the BG even a little more. Very nice work here.
Heh-heh! It was you who spoiled my Badwater landscape with your kayak! (just kidding). Amazing shot!
Also, I was in the exact same spot on *that* stone with *that* red flower. Alabama Hills is an amazing place. It's weird, it seems that 1/2 of these boards went to DV in the past two weeks, me included.
Nice dogs, too.
I've been gone the last couple days so I never got a chance to say "thanks" for taking the time to comment! So here goes... thanks! I'll add more shots when I get them scanned. My fiance just got me a Canon 20D which blew me away so hopefully my daze of scanning and scanning and scanning are limited. I'd like to shoot with a 20D and a Pentax 67II, just using the medium format for those poster shots now and then. Life is good.®
here's the deal, Buck. With a 20D or any other DSLR besides perhaps the Fuji, you would have to blend 2 shots to get what you got in that one shot. Hard to beat film for a shot like that.
Chris
p.s. i love that 1st shot, BTW. and i'm a GSD owner myself...and a toy poodle owner. the last one is my wife's fault.
