Fuji 70-300mm: Feature or Defect?

On my Fuji 70-300mm I noticed that if I turn the zoom ring when the lock is on, it will pop out of lock i.e. turn the lock off.

Is this a feature or a defect? Just curious how everyone else's lens works.... Thanks

I believe that is a feature. On my 70-300 the lock disengages when I turn the zoom ring. One of my favorite Fuji lenses: small, light, sharp, and focuses pretty close.

I love the lens it's perfect and I have had it for a few years, but I only noticed this recently and wasn't sure if that was normal behavior or not.
