What are anyone's thoughts on putting it the oven on proof for the night (80-95 degrees)
I am not sayin’, if you get my point.
About 20 years ago I dropped a Motorola Razor phone in to the edge of a pond. Nothing worked afterward. Thinking along your kind of idea, I took the battery out and put it on a sun-lit dashboard for the day, and the rest of the phone went in to a toaster oven set at 250F. With a thermometer verifying the accuracy within a few degrees. My thought was that it needed to be hot enough to boil-vaporize any water in the phone, but nowhere near hot enough to melt anything. 45 minutes later the phone came out to cool down. The next day, I put the battery in the phone and everything worked perfectly. I kept it for another year or more. I can’t say what I’d do if my D5 was submerged, probably a no on the toaster oven.
