Here are some shots - just started with street - using (mostly) a Canon R5 Mark II, a 28 f2.8 lens (noted otherwise) and Lightroom on an iPad.

Comments and critiques welcome!

Tom, I will offer my comments but I am nowhere close to being a "critic". These are comments "as I see" your images.
#1 thru #4 the blacks are super!! Most of the whites are also BUT the facial tones a a bit dark. On #4 there is a tad bit of haloing on the man's face. Barely noticable but there. PP?
Now I thought the last few were very good both in tones and tonal seperation. All are nice a crisp regardless. Yes #5 the produce is blown out and 2 of the ladies arms are a bit hot! But I do like the brighter whites here. #7 is EXCELLENT IMHO!#6..lighten the lady in the rear some. The last..the plaza is pretty hot! But bieng that the frame is "side lit" it is ok because the musicians appear fine.

Just my $.02 Tom. These are NOT criticisms of your compositions at all! Just another photographer's views.
Hopefully others will offer some insight also!

Dan

Tom - more of a response to your content rather than the technical merits of your images themselves…I think there are a lot of things that can make street photos “good;” what draws me in is a good story within the image. I think some of your images have that quality. The 5th image with the pensive thinking man is my favorite. The last one with the performers is a runner up. Both have a storytelling element to them.

I think when you notice these things, you need to get closer. I’m not saying get so close as to interrupt the scene, but you can really draw a viewer in by making street subjects the focal point of your composition. This is why 28mm (and maybe 35mm) are great FLs. You can capture a sweeping scene and you can make it less obvious you are taking a picture of a person. Or if you’re not shy, make it obvious and don’t make a big deal out of it.

These are from Porto, Portugal, and Barcelona, Spain.

I love photographing street performers. I’m thinking about making that a theme of my work.

Thank you! I’m still new to this, and I didn’t want to break the mood in #5. I shot it around the corner. Not quite ready to be obvious.

I really appreciate the feedback!
