The train overnighted in Villa Grove, got to see them fill with water and fuel oil. Grease and oil the moving parts as well as talking with some of the crew. Got some video of it going slow into Tuscola to cross the diamonds at the old Illinois Central lines. I specked out some potential viewing locations the day before. There was a corn field that had already been cut near Arthur. Pretty much every location had a swam of people right up near the tracks. I was wondering if people would walk into the field to get near the tracks. I think the Amish added to the photos instead of detracting from them. I did edit out a couple "English" with cell phones. Had debated going to see the train at midnight to see if I could get some night photos without a crowd. Also thought about stopping by at sunrise for maybe interesting light and hopefully a thin crowd, but sleep seemed more appealing.
One thing I found interesting, the Amish family living there maintained a well cared for yard right up to the ballast on the tracks. You can see this in the first photo.
