Nice images, sad situation and unfortunately all too common. Sometimes the buildings can be repurposed, especially in areas that have housing shortages.

Thank you Brent. In this case the buildings are just too far gone. 10 or so years ago when the owner abandoned the factory the buildings could have been repurposed for other industries or commerce. However, I believe that Municipalities should have a say in not letting buildings go this far.

I have never read or heard anything about future plans for that property. It sits right beside a New Technology campus affiliated with the McMaster University. You would think that someone would come up with an interesting repurpose plan.
Downtown Cambridge, ON a former B+W foundry was repurposed into a nice venue for shows, exhibitions, restaurant and bars in what is called the Gaslight District. Gaslight because in the late 1800s the neighborhood was illuminated by gas street lamps by the former Galt Gas Light Company

I love deserted buildings! Not only to explore but to photograph!

I wish developers would find a plan to re-purpose structures rather than destroy and build new "sanitized" looking structures!

I agree with you Dan. That factory has been in that state for the last 15 years or more that I have gone by it. Not sure if there are any plans. I also would love to go in there and photograph the internal structure.
