In a movement of weakness when my wife was away for nearly 6 weeks, I bought a used Q2M in the classifieds. I love monochrome photographs and have been shooting monochrome with Fuji gear... The Q2M is very next level. Here's my first B&W photo on FM; its my local pub.

I think you're going to love that camera! I had one for about a year but sold it to get back to my M10M. That 28mm f1.7 is one of the best ever made by Leica.
Have you showed it to your wife yet? 😉

I recently had a similar moment of weakness and bought a Q2M from a local FM member. No regrets about it whatsoever. It's such a fun camera! Great shot BTW.

Yes, I showed her the camera when she got back from Germany (she's German) - her first reaction was "it's a Leica! How much did you spend on it?" I told her... and she replied "nice camera, I like B&W photos." And that's the last I've heard about it.

Regarding the lens... its amazing! And the camera is so fun to shoot with. I use Nikons for color work, but this has become my daily carry camera on the weekends.

Your wife is definitely a keeper. The second image is even nicer than the first. I'd suggest you show that one to your wife but not the first one where the woman is checking you out. 😉

Congrats on the new rig.

Would like to see how deep you can crop all the way in to a portrait on that first one. I'm curious to see how well it holds up on the Q2M when you go that deep.

Leica monochrome tones have a purity that Fuji misses. Fuji monochrome looks more like an effect.

Thanks for the crop.

Worked the crop some in PS ... even after that crop, I cropped some more and it still took adjustments well.

Leica suggests that the Q can crop to an equivalent of 35 / 50 / 75. On my Q2, I only go about as deep as 50. Here, on the Q2M, I think reaching deeper toward 75 is more viable than the color version of the Q2.

Btw ... what ISO was the first one shot at?
