This isn't a major concern but more of a convenience. I'm curious if anyone that owns both the R5 and the R5II has tried copying their R5 settings over to the R5II as a starting point to set-up your new R5II.
I suspect the answer is it will not work, but thought I'd ask.

Obviously there are many new settings between the old and new but for example, it would be nice to at least transfer your custom menu(s) over rather then having to start from scratch then add or tweek as needed for the new features of the R5II. Transferring your custom (C1, C2, C3) would be another convenience as a starting point.
I'm curious about this from the standpoint of possibly renting the R5II for a trip (limited time to play) where it would be a huge time saver to simply copy the majority of my R5 setting over to the rental then tweak for the new functions.

Lighthound - it does not reload. I tried it on day 1.

I set mine up for hybrid shooting -
Stills - c1 landscape on tripod AEB, 2s delay... , c2 landscape/travel handheld AEB electronic, ... , c3 wildlife (15fps, precapture, ..)
Video - c3 - défault - 4k30, c2 - 4k 60, c3 4k - 120 - all clog 2 - but I am not much of a video guy so you might not like
I don't use custom remapping - because I am hybrid though

If it's helpful to you - I could email it. Otherwise you could ask for a someone closer to your settings, to email theirs.

What's your focus that you want - landscape, wildlife or hybrid?

PM me with your email if you want it.

Thanks for the offer Scott, I appreciate it.
I'm just thinking ahead for a trip I'm planning to Yellowstone next spring. If I don't cave and buy the R5II before then, I was thinking about renting it for the trip and thought it would be nice to just transfer my R5 settings over to it to get me up and running quickly with a dual bodies and lenses. There are so many settings to enable or disable or set to your preference whenever you get a new body it's just time consuming when you have little time to spare.
Again, nothing too concerning here as it's not a huge deal. Plus menu diving into a new body is really the best way to learn it.

FWIW, if you have the 'old' body available, going through each menu side-by-side is relatively fast. It got me 90% of the way there in about 20 minutes. The remaining 10% took about a week, that was mostly about playback, I wanted to match the dials to my R8, where one dial advances to the next shot and the other controls the zoom. You can't configure them the way I want using the dials menu, but there is a 'swap dial functionality' option

After 2 weeks of use I'm still tweaking the settings, it's different enough from the original R5 and R8 that the 'new' way of doing things is better for my uses in some cases. For example, the ability to enable tracking in all AF modes is a positive change for people and birds, but most of the time a negative for insects.
