I know, I know, there's another forum for this but too bad, those other forums are dead...
So in regards to editing your Canon images/video...as a Mac user there are very few 5K monitors to choose from with the Apple Studio Display being the best option. Mac computers scale best on 5K, so it's hard to go back to a 4K monitor after using 5k and 6k monitors for several years. With that said, the Samsung S9 5K 27" display is on sale right now for 50% off @ $800. There are many complaints about this display that might not matter to some:
1. Horrible build quality - I don't care, I don't travel with my monitors. Once it's on my desk it stays put
2. Horrible camera - I don't care, I don't use web cams
3. Horrible speakers - I don't care, I have my own speakers
4. Horrible bloat ware - I don't care, I'll never use it for anything else other than a monitor
5. Can't control brightness from Mac keyboard - okay, I can deal with this
The bottom line is that it has a beautiful 5K panel and that's all I really care about if I can get one for $800 and sit it next to my other displays. All the reviews I've watched on the S9 are basing the review on the list price of $1599, which is obviously not worth it. I'm probably going to add one of these to my collection and I wanted to find out if anyone else here is using one with a Mac? I would ask for other monitor suggestions but there are really only a few options in the 5K space. Anyone have any large 4K displays they like for Mac, assuming you've owned a 5k Mac display previously?
If you haven't seen this deal, I'm curious if anyone else would consider picking one at this price to edit your Canon images?

Finding a display that suits you nowadays is not easy.
I recently switched to all OLED for screens with a google pixel 8 for phone, LG C2 for tv and an Asus proart P16 for laptop.
I still have an Eizo 27inch 4k display for PC use, but the quality OLED displays kind of ruined that for me.
OLED excels at color accuracy, infinite contrast and very wide color gamut.
I wish I could get a color accurate 4K OLED display that does hardware calibration, and anything between 24 and 27 inch would be fine.
Sorry this does not help you one bit, and is not really on topic, but I have the feeling that phones and tablets have pushed forward display technology, but for desktops, it has not caught up yet, and I have a hard time still getting by with a conventional lcd display, that I now find to look bleak and lifeless, but also have a hard time finding an alternative.
I hope you will find your ideal display.
