Same here.
I had two of them and they were my workhorses for years. I remember an issue with dust in the ISO selector and one bar failing in the speed display.
But they never bricked and were reliable.

Now I have another one and it works fine too.

I'm sure there are lots of fully functional M7s, obviously. My friends experience was from working in a large used camera retailer and he described them as unreliable. It doesn't mean that all of them broke at the same time he said that.
