So why own the Fuji then?

Er … I wasn’t commenting on that. Only responding to your complaint about having to delve into menus when using the X100V/VI, which you don’t have to.it is a simple point really - if that was your reason for not wanting to keep the Fuji it seemed strange. That you prefer the Q for all the other perfectly valid reasons you state is understandable, but menu-diving as a fault of the Fuji is not.

On another note, there are plenty of reasons for preferring the X100VI. 1. It is much smaller, and its form allows it to fit in a jacket pocket, or a slim case on your belt. The Q is a block, and it is hard to see it fitting into any pocket. 2. It is much lighter. 3 it has a hybrid viewfinder, which is great for those that prefer a window view. 4. The quality of images from the 100VI is excellent printing up to 24” wide. Only if you want to go much beyond that, or you want to crop your image severely will you see the benefit of the Q3. That, of course, may be what you want to do, but others may not need or want to. 5. It is much, much cheaper.

Having said all that, I am aware of the superb optical and ergonomic qualities of the Q3s, and when they make a Q3M, I might well pick one up.

To be fair is it really any different ratio than your average Leica shooter?

Agreed. Half of the photos posted are even out of focus.

which grip did you snag?

Can't remember if I answered this question.

I got the new Multifunction Protector case. I might send it back if not having an opening for the SD card slot irritates me too much since I always when back from a shoot download images to my RAW RAID drives via SD card into my Mac Studio.

I ended up getting LIM Q3 smooth leather case for my Q3 28 since I was hearing all kinds of issues with the Leica charging hand grip brought out with the Q3. This case is perfect and has cutouts for battery and SD card removal. It screws into the tripod socket like most cases and provides a thin screw driver for unscrewing the grip.case if wanted and then that flat screw driver had a magnet to hold it in place. Never had to remove it since installation, but screw driver still where I left it on bottom of case when I checked it today. It also costs about $100 less than the $250 Leica case.

I also consider the original SL sensor to output very pleasant images.

Could this be that those sensors were not BSI? I do like the old non-BSI sensor in the GFX 50SII for that exact reason, I assume that is what I am seeing when comparing it to the BSI sensor in the GFX 100SII.

Then again I like the rendering of old Leica/ Hassy/Mamiya lenses at times too. Guess I should not have had the experience of shooting film nearly 60 years ago in college for the newspaper and Yearbook. But that still has impressed me to this day. When I see a sharp, but soft image it brings all the nostalgia rushing back.

Even today my old collection of Hasselblad CF lenses on my CFV 100S has that feeling to me at least and is not that what counts, the photographers feelings and vision?

P.S. I still regret selling my 500C and 2 lenses while assigned in San Paulo, Brasil in 1973/74. Obrigado for that experience.

I am a fan of Lim's cases as well. I have a couple of them.
