ThinkTank Airport International. It is a roller bag and has been my international travel companion for over 15 years. I have similar contents as the above: 2 bodies, 100-400, 24-70, a prime or two, chargers, batteries, plus accessories. It also meets international travel carry-on stipulations.

Oh, that’s mostly a Filson 24-hour briefcase (I think that’s what they call it), but that’s not my on-location photo bag. I prefer to carry little when I go out, so depending on the destination, those are generally 10L or 6/7L Wotancraft or Bellroy bags. They go in my carry-on or checked luggage.

If I do need a larger bag, I can insert the inside of a Billingham Hadley in the Filson bag, though.

Over several trips, I have used a Thinktank StreetWalker Harddrive V2. It is lighter than rolling bags and it’s good because you are usually limited to about 20 pounds per bag in a plane.
I have carried 2 pro bodies with Canon 200-400mm f/4, plus 70-200mm f/2.8 and an other wide angle.- or 2 bodies and all the lenses you are mentioning in your post and more.

And they fit in the above head compartment. This bag is well designed, versatile, confortable and robust(used it in great bear rainforest (BC) to shoot spirit bears and it is very rainy over there.

I have had very good experience with the Gura Gear City Commuter 18L backpack. I carry 2 R5s, RF100-500, RF70-200 f/4, and RF24-105 in the main section, with a RF14-35, batteries, charger etc. etc. in the roll-down top section. Plus a MacBook Air. It's the usual very high quality Gura Gear stuff, and for me it's comfortable to carry through airports. And I'm old.

Prepare to spend the next 3 years and thousands of dollars trying to find the right camera backpack! I have about 6 and they all have pluses and minuses. I seem to default to my LowePro when I am hiking with a camera bag as it can strap down tightly and not move around while I am on the trail. I have the Peak Design and was an early adopter. I like the lightness of this bag and generally the space and layout but it is so loud on my back when hiking that it absolutely drives me nuts.

Depending on your use make sure it has good straps, is relatively waterproof and is light. Those were my criteria. When I go on tours I see a lot of other photographers that f-stop backpacks. While they looked quite nice I just couldn’t bring myself to buying yet another camera backpack!

And another shout out for the Streetwalker Harddrive V2. It satisfies both US (American Airlines) and European (British Airways) size restrictions for carryons. I can get 2 R5s (no grips), 14-35, 25-105, 70-200 f/4, 100-500 and 1.4x in the bag, though it is very heavy. My laptop goes in my computer bag, which is my personal item. Ouch, my back hurts just thinking about all the gear on my back.

Good to know as I have similar equipment and usually use a roller, but am thinking about a backpack for times when the roller isn't the best solution. Regarding carry-on weight limits: most of the mainline airlines in North America no longer have a fixed limit, rather require you be able to lift the bag into the overhead bin. The low-cost carriers however may have weight restrictions. In Canada this would be Flair at 10kg. Many/most non-North American airlines have carry-on weight limits, so will depend on where you're flying and with which airline.
