I was perusing some old files while updating to new hard drives and came across some photos from my very first DSLR, the EOS 1D. It only had 4.15mp, but there was something very pleasing about the colours straight out of that camera.
This image was taken on my first outing with my new EOS 1D (which had just set me back CA$8,000) the same week I joined FM back in 2002.
We must have bought ours around the same time. Mine is serial number 001200 (and I still have it).

Looks great Cliff.
Do you process in DPP? Or does Adobe still have workable camera profiles for the 1D? If so, I wonder how the images would hold up with Adobe's Super Resolution upscaler.
Lightroom will process 1D raw files and I tried a few files with Denoise/Enhance. It worked but was not able to remove the luminance banding noise that was prevalent in copies of this camera, including mine. I don't think I tried the Super Resolution option. I'll see if I can find a 1D raw file...
Here's one shot in 2004 after I got the 1DII. I used the 1D as a remote camera here trigged with a Pocket Wizard. EXIF says 90mm and I think I used the TS-E 90 prefocused for the start of this motocross race.
And a couple from the finish line of the elite women's race of the 2003 World Cycling Championships.
The guys in the yellow vests were all using the 1D. The guy with the flash on the camera reminded me that the 1D had a very useful 1/500 sync speed. From what I recall of the pecking order, there were three vest colors: yellow, red and green with priority given in that order. In the background you can see the green vests... And the finish line shot.
