Burton Island is a nesting ground for Little Green Herons. The LGH nest on the west side of the island. At dawn they are active at the shore but the light is very dim.

Their fishing skills need a little improvement - they catch a lot of twigs.

That is so awesome Bob! We get plenty of greenies here, but I have yet to run into the young'uns. Nice work.

Thanks Eric. I used to go to another spot where LGH nested but eather and rising tides wiped it out. I found this one this year.

Hi Bob. Lucky you to have a nesting site to shoot. I have not seen very many this summer, always a favorite subject for me. These are all nice, with 2 being my favorite.

Great variety throughout. The reflection in the final image makes that a very solid shot.
