Excellent set Gary. I like the look you got in the early morning fog. I had to take a close look to see that the adult tern is not standing on the young one as it eats the fish. That's a great image. For #4, the backlit osprey, have you tried a warmer white balance? The first is my pick.

Love the first shot with the still water reflection and mist Gary, that just exemplifies a beautiful peaceful quiet morning. The feeding young tern is a close second.

Thanks so much Eric. it was a very peaceful morning. Almost no wind at all. I tried so hard not to flush that Egret. It was the first shot of the morning before I even adjusted my settings. I was hoping to sneak up on him and catch him fishing. Sometimes they're very tolerant and other times nothin doin

I'm finding that it very much depends on the subject. The Osprey fledglings are much more tolerant than the adults. Some Egrets pay little attention and others want nothing to do with you. But there's no question a kayak will put you in a better position in the majority of situations. Take for example the Common Tern feeding a chick. That snag they were perched on is at least 20-30 yards from shore. No way you can get that shot from the shoreline and they let me move in close enough to fill the frame. Plus I can easily paddle from one spot to another if something is happening on the opposite side of the lagoon.
There's always the fear of dropping my gear but I put it in a dry bag when getting in and out of the kayak. Once I'm in I'm not worried because this is very flat water. I started doing this about four years ago and no problems yet
