Yep, Sometimes just can't catch a break. Other times " it just works out ". I just keep telling myself " if you don't go you have no chance of seeing anything ".

#2 is very nice
That was some harsh light too in the GBH shots. Always cool when the light from above shines down through the eyeball and leaves a little highlight at the base of the eye as in #3!

Excellent set Eric. The herons look very nice this time of year. Never considered whether dragonflies were "mooning" me or not!

Thanks Karl! Yes, it was getting on noon, they don't call us the Sunshine State for nothing, though lately it feels more like the Soggy State...

I used to avoid shooting in noon day sun, preferring overcast diffused light days, but I've pushed myself to make the most of it lately as long as the critters haven't gone into hiding, and with these new sensors with high dynamic range, you can get some pretty fun stuff as long as you protect the highlights.
